“Whenever a man begins to love the God of their salvation and not just fear him, there is available to that man or woman a power…” This is The Truth. One of the biggest mistakes religion has made is to associate fear with God. Religion has taught us that if we don’t live a certain way or follow the rules of a particular denomination, God will punish us in some way. Fear of His wrath is traditionally what the church has used to lead people to God (or at least to church on Sundays). I believe that fear is what keeps people from developing an authentic relationship with Him. I love God because I recognize how He works in my life. I don’t need to fear Him in order to be a servant to Him and humanity. I do what I do and am all that I am because I recognize and am grateful for the love He has shown me. I believe that God is love, pure and simple. It saddens me to see how hard it is for some people to accept the purity of God’s love without attaching some kind of fear to it.
