His dance with me can be compared to a "homegoing" procession in New Orleans, Louisiana. Homecoming processions are often reenacted during Mardi Gras. Traditionally, on the way to the cemetery, the procession "slow drags", "sidelining" they call it. Mourners walk very slowly, almost dragging, and the music is melancholy. But on the way out, everyone dances and rejoices! The horns, and drums are upbeat,and everybody parties afterward, to celebrate the soul going back to be with God. God "slow dragged" with me during life's dark places, and he danced and partied with me on the way out! I thank Him for His faithfullness during life's valleys and mountatin tops. Today I wore my ballerina-like slippers to remind me that each moment we're in a dance with God, our perfect partner, by our side. Today I've twirled and danced with graceful fortitude, even though some of the steps were elaborate and tricky-more like a Cleveland Hustle than a Two Step. Lord, if I stumble let me make it look like a slide. Yes, there is a time to mourn, but right now, its time to dance! For me that is a breakthrough to another level of living. Jj! I am constantly reminding my girlfriends that I am in the business of living with or with out a husband. Your lesson tonight has remind me that I am on the right track. Although I have danced differently in my 31 years of life I still remain balanced. I dance knowing that it is for God I dance and not a husband. My friends don't get that, I dance knowing that God will make me whole oneday. I always ask my friends are we connected to God's heart or his hand. I want the heart because in the heart I can receive love. May God bless you beyond your gifts and abilities! As I read this before bible study tonight I was deeply moved.
